Workshop 3: Ho'okahua - Designing Multidisciplinary Units of Study Through a Hawaiian Lens_Session 012324
Hoʻokahua - Designing Multidisciplinary Units of Study Through a Hawaiian Lens
Wednesday, January 24th and 31st 2024 from 3:30-5:30pm
Hoʻokahua is translated to mean establish, to lay a foundation, or to settle down to a task with determination to see it through. This workshop will answer the question, “How can I seamlessly teach a diverse group of learners, weave multiple concepts and content areas together, and integrate Hawaiian pedagogies into one unit of study?”
The workshop will include interactive scenario exercises, quantum learning experiences, and sensory engagement that can be applied in any learning environment. The facilitators will provide guidance and tools to educators to design an individualized framework that applies the praxis of Hawaiian ways of learning and can reach a wide spectrum of learners.
